Just got a new Shark set up, now have to decide what to fill it with. What is Everyone else running?I can see Braid being good to get extra line capacity on the reel, tho the only downside is if i rub on reefs etc. Or is it worth losing line capacity and go mono for extra strength?99% of the time it will be Metro and Yorkes Jettys.

The old bone handle knifes are great, can not beat them once sharpened correctly.. and they stay sharp too!!

I have the Diawa Exceller in a 2000 series, great reels, and bloody strong.. it's been thrashed and mistreated since day one, and still going strong.Check out the Diawa website, there is specs/pics on the bigger Excellers.

Don't know to much about fly gear, but that reel is pretty sexy!

You can't change the majority that don't understand why we go fishing. They all think meat is something that you buy at woolies. I bet you if you put a lamb in front of someone and said there you go cut out your chops you're average schmuck would chuck a spaz at how its inhumane...There is no winning chief' date=' the trick is to do it as best as you can as humanely as possible. This bloke has done nothing wrong, it just happens some idiot was nearby and took a photo and now it's in the paper. Let's condemn every other "idiot" that decides to go fishing on a metro jetty during hours where there are non-fishoes around.People only have an issue with what doesn't affect them as is the case with this garbage. Hardly anyone cares how much water they use, the damage their car does to the enviroment or even the fact that smoking kills. Tell me what he did wrong and i'll happily listen[/quote']Well said mate.

I'd rather catch squid and use it as bait and have fun catching fish, then catch squid and eat it...
-
Never targeted squid that much, use to use those cheapies and had the same issue.. Now i have the good old red/white yozuri... works a treat, and no issues with cloth.

Yep all my trays have the removable partitions, makes like so much easier when re-organising new lures to the collection.

Tested the water today and mentioned i wouldn't mind going away over xmas/nye expecting to be told no chance... But to my surprise the boss replied with book it a.s.a.p and you will get it... So looks like im in.

What i think Brenton is trying to say, if you change the settings in the unit that he suggested, you will be able to fit more digits in (the longer coordinates)

Not sure if it is just me, but a 3-6kg rod sounds a bit overkill on Bream and YFW.

Ranger? :laugh:Posted this on another thread' date=' but reckon it deserves it's own :)There should be a closed season for spawning at st kilda breakwater (bear with me)I finished work early on Thursday and headed down st kilda breakwater. It was crap tide but thought "hey why not".Got there and fisheries were there, so I had a chat and great coupla fellas they were any way as I set off about 20m into the walk, I noticed a fella by the concrete blocks. As I got with in say 150m I noticed him doing a rooting type of motion  WTF??? As I got closer, he had his missus on the concrete blocks It wasn't until I was like 50m away did they get their pants back on I was going to say hi but they were just too embarrassed. [b']The dude had grey hair[/b] too, nice work buddy. The funny thing is that Troy Harris and his other fisheries mate had their binoculars out for a bit while I was chatting to them, so I wonder if they saw any of this illegal spawning outside of the November ban hahaha onya boys, and onya that grey haired man
