Just wanted to know what gear people where using of the beach for bronzies and eagle rays {SMILIES_PATH}/huh.gif Like what pound line how much line, reels rods ect. i saw a trevally get caught on bait just last night... It was tiny though {SMILIES_PATH}/grin.gif

Must have come through the storm pipes.I would love to catch some nice size mullies like yours on plastics or baits from westlakes.

I had many problems with the council down a west lakes, ive just resorted to buying a kayak so i can fish where ever i want and not get bothered {SMILIES_PATH}/grin.gif

I don't think it will take me as long to get to get my second mully, ive started to target them more now and ive learnt alot since i started. {SMILIES_PATH}/grin.gif

That's one huge fish,there's a video on youtube of people catching these with there bare hands..

I had another hit when i was going for bream, the line just screamed of for about 10 seconds then the mully just seem to let go of the line. This was my first real hook up.

thanks for all the great coments and i think my mum was just happy to see that i had finally caught a mully. {SMILIES_PATH}/grin.gifit's a day later and i still can't get the smile of my face. {SMILIES_PATH}/grin.gif {SMILIES_PATH}/grin.gif

So after about a year of trying for Mullies in Westlakes I have finally caught one. He may not be huge, but he's still a mullie.It was about nine o'clock at night and my mum had just called me to tell me she was waiting for me at the inlet. I thought to my self, "another unsuccessful mully session at the lake". I started to wind in my plastic in when "WHAM". My lure just stoped, I thought i was snagged and then all of a sudden i got the biggest head shakes of my life. After about 10 minutes I finally got the mully in. Here's some pics below.

It was pretty rough, but once we got around the breakwater it wasn't to bad, and the mully was caught on a soft plastic. {SMILIES_PATH}/tongue.gif

So I've finally figured out how to post pics, so I thought I'd share some pics.On Saturday night Brooksey and I headed out to catch some salmon as live bait and then later on go for some mully's.Here's the result from our salmon session, caught all of these in about an hour.Once we had bagged out on salmon we went for mully's but didn't have quite the same results. We got nothing on live bait but Brooksey managed to catch a little 55cm while going for bream.
