  7. yeah ive only ever had that much rust from rigs i made last season, i usually make new rigs each season now anyways?
  8. just use black plastic coated wire! haha then you wont see the rust! to be honest, the rust probably wont do much! I usually heat shrink around the crimps and were i cut the wire, never really had to much trouble with rust!
  9. eagle rays arnt to bad, just grab them by the spericals, flip them and get your hooks, but smoothies are a whole different story!! ive learnt my lesson with these things, after seeing a mate get barbed in the leg( hit a main artery and had major problems moving his toes, he can now move his toes down but not up)!! Best thing is to just cut the line and play it safe!
  10. Got this 5 foot hammer today while chasing bronzies down the yorks, nice little suprise! Pull bloody hard for there size, took a couple of screaming 50m runs on full lock on 15kg, thought it was a 6 foot bronzie! lol
  11. got my biggest the other day, got him metro, 95cm and just over 3kg!
  12. hay coight, u can get them off metro beaches, but there few and far between! I recon you should just plan a trip up to salt creek, always a few up there around this time of the year.Heres one i got off a metro beach this year, good fight on 8kg
  13. I heard suffix has gone broke and there selling all there gear under another name, heaps cheaps? anyone no if this is true or not??
  14. Yeah its wicked braid for the price! Never let me down either, landed most of my mullys and snaps on lures on suffix! Its only around $40 too!
  15. Get yourself a Fenwick 8kg seamaster boat rod, only $65 at the moment, use to be $140 and its one of the nicest rods ive used plus you will have plenty of cash left over for a nice reel! Have a serious look at these rods!
  16. Nice job making the cover weaver! Wooo im in the brag board! haha
  17. I had the same problem big Ian! went out in the boat and there where so many sea lice your bait would turn into a skeleton in about 30seconds! I remeber last year the sea lice got bad around this time of the year!
  18. cheers for that bigash, I'm using 6/0 octopus hooks at the moment but might have to invest in some circle hooks! Thanks for ya helpLuke
  19. yeah, i recon ive been a bit unlucky on a few runs, been a bit too late on striking! lol I might give your two hook rig a go brenton where you have one swinging free! cheers for ya help fellas!
  20. Hay fellas,I was just wondering how u rig your lives for mullys as i seem to be having a bit of trouble hooking them at the moment! Ive had about four runs in the last couple of weeks all resulting in pulled hooks .hissy. So just wanted to no how many hooks you use and how u rig your lives. I am currently using a float rig with one hook through the back of the live bait.Any info would be good, Cheers Luke
  21. theres a few more details on the websitehttp://www.adventurebound.com.au/RIP mate!!!
  22. I would go 2500 or 2000 size reel, that way its still light enough to chuck plastics at bream etc, but you've still got enough line capacity to chase the bigger species like mullys etc! Go a daiwa reel as well as they make the best light spin reels for value of money, something like and exceler plus around the $150 mark or an advantage! I'm sure one of the site sponsors will hook you up!
