I have seen a copy of these jigs on ebay. Only the 80g size though. Any thoughts on whether these would work as well as the shimano version?

Ok. Thanks Ranger, I get the impression I am looking at bottom of the range rods or the Shimanos arent what I thought they might be. Looks like a trip to the tackle shop again to be pointed in the right direction. Cheers

Hi guys I am looking for a little help with rod selection as there seem to be so many choices even when restricted by budget. I am looking at purchasing a shimano 6500btr and a rod to suit. I can upgrade to a combo that comes with a 7 foot catana 8-10 kg rod or am I better off with something else like spectrum plus, beast master or eclipse in the shimano range or maybe even a silstar crystal tip. I am a little confused by the shimano range as there are so many to choose from. This rod and reel combo is mainly to be used for snapper fishing. cheers.
