  1. Some very good replies posted here.Firstly let me say I am not against desalination plants but I do have concerns about where they are proposed to be built. I believe there is a legitimate need for them when after all we are the driest state in the driest continent.I too would have thought that with more than 7,500 desalination plants worldwide (I believe) we could draw some fairly conclusive assumptions about what detrimental effects one would have on our environment. Maybe an explanation for the lack of long term studies is simply because of the uniqueness of our two gulfs in that they bot
  2. Gday Ranger {SMILIES_PATH}/grin.gifSo it should have been 20 million, and not 2.million as fishum reported in his first post.Ranger you posted $950,000.00I would say it would be divided differently than this at any rate and South Australia would receive aprox 1/14th of whatever the figure =$1.4million over 3 yearsRanger, I'd like to give you $ 0.95m and then you give me $95,000,000.00 {SMILIES_PATH}/wink.gif
  3. Fishum posted Posted by: Ranger So is it 2 million or 20 million. Which one of you blokes is working for the ugly duckling I mean swan? Apparently his figures don't add up either??????????$2 million NATION WIDE over 3 years will do squat. 2 million statewide over 3 years will do squate. This government is so out of touch it's not funny. If it's $2 million that probably equates to less than $1 per fisher over 3 years nation wide. Ranger with your mathamatics you could be recruited for the next treasurer either State or Federally. {SMILIES_PATH}/grin.gif {SMILIES_PATH}/grin.gif {SMILIES_PAT

Ranger said I hope someone has told the War Veterans Fishing Group that it wasn't three days after the first full moon then. ??? :oI have been surfing the web lately and came across this http://wvfg.org.au/Newsletters/PDF%20Fi ... letter.pdf BLOOD WORM RUNThe Blood Worm Run in South Australia beginson the 3rd day after the first full moon inJuly.Rob S., Boz, Greg and Lofty took the latestblood worm run in Metro waters as an opportunityto stock up on what is a very effective baitfor most species, especially Bream and KGs.It has been suggested that might be interestednext year in conducting a
  9. giantmo said I still haven't worked out how to catch these burbling bubbles myself yet.{SMILIES_PATH}/huh.gif {SMILIES_PATH}/huh.gif {SMILIES_PATH}/huh.gif Ha Ha, I've heard once bubbles are caught though they make extremely good bait as apparently all fish love them. {SMILIES_PATH}/grin.gif {SMILIES_PATH}/grin.gif There is a slight problem though I've heard they are extremely hard to put on a hook. {SMILIES_PATH}/shocked.gif {SMILIES_PATH}/wink.gifI believe sometimes fish suck too many in, and if you look carefully sometimes you can see some bubbles being blown out. This is the time to be

  11. I'm not real keen on a can of beansand I definitely don't like a can of wormsbut I have been known to be partial to the odd can of Tuna or red salmon at times. Now to answer Ranger's question, do fish feel pain? Nah! I don't think so; I've never heard one scream. {SMILIES_PATH}/grin.gif {SMILIES_PATH}/grin.gif {SMILIES_PATH}/grin.gif

  13. Yeh, I also saw a pint of cockles being sold for $12.00 today. I was told the reason behind this was that a sack of cockles had gone up again. $150.00 a 20kg sack. Can this be true?Shortly after I saw a bloke come in and part with $44.00 for a so called large bag of cockles and he didn?t even flinch. ??? :oI?m sure this same bag two year ago would have been no more than $12.00. >:(This price hike I assume will only mean more 4wd traffic along Goolwa beach and even more pressure on our Goolwa cockle stocks. One can only presume a snow balling effect will occur, with even more pressure from
  14. They say more fishermen are hooked by lures than fish.Went to Big W yesterday and even though I haven, tbeen trout fishing for some years, and I already have a nice little collection I eyedballed for a moment and then all of a sudden I got hooked by these little yarrawonga yabbies.I paid a little under $4.00 each as they were on special. Just wondering if anyone here has used these before or any other OUTBACK LURES? Damn that colourful one looked so pretty.Addiction took over and hooked againnaughty niftrev[/color:35bsgdem] http://www.fishyorkepeninsula.com/images/attachments/Fi4wOtMf__Yarrawo
