  1. Went out in kayak this morning for a couple of hours, taking photo's of catch would be good to throw in x,y,z spot as we seem to be bumping in to a lot lately.Even my daughter says thumbs up to that spot dad but sssh keep that one quite.
  2. Welcome to the site plenty of infomation and people willing to share info,Salmon trout are 21cm to 35cm,35cm and over are called salmon or australian salmon at 35cm and over the bag and boat limit change thats when the name changes to,the only one is the eastern australian salmon and the western australian salmon,as the western is much larger, the salmon trout is also confused with the tommy ruff as have seen buckets of so called tommy's that are salmon trout except tommy's dont have bag and boat limits or size.Once there around can be caught on lure's and bait and the action is quick.
  3. Sorry should of said"it's not my trailer i'm not launching in to that"i went down early morning to launch and retrieve my boat after adjusting and moving the rollers friday on one side as the boat just sits to one side and as people know if it's not quite right i will chase it until i'm happy so went down to st.kilda with camera in hand and after playing with my boat at the public ramp went into private club to see the ramp all clean and found this trailer camouflaged owner was not around to ask but i'm sure thay would want the weed problem solved along with many other ramp uses, didn't take ph
  4. As a member of the club and my dad has been commodore of the club also,i attended working bee's to help paint club room's and install new fence around the club there was a weed boom installed to help the weed problem but as the by-laws were changed to let bigger boats in the weed boom was not installed the it should of been, the best solution the club came up with was hay bailer that is towed behind the tractor which members cant use as it's locked up in the tractor shed, the weed can be cleaned up on the ramp today and with a sea breeze the weed blows straight on to the boat club ramp, would be
  5. Looks like a factory set up,i would use the same skin fittings that are there,if you scroll down in general fishing i showed pictures of my live bait tank set up along with some others mite be a help to you.
  6. Hi Nanman my cousin just throws a round cloths basket with a motor bike tube around it and lets it float out the back when he moves just dumps live bait in to a crabbing tub and heads of.just about anything that holds water will do.
  7. Hi trihull fisher, found the tank years ago at a tackle shop down south just called in on our way to victor for a drive, found it in the back of tackle shop coverd in fishing clothing and wet suit's and said to wife i could use that,it's a portable tank i didn't want a built in live bait tank as it's always in the way,out for a day trip chasing whiting and crabs dont need it,when chasing mullies put it in fill with water and a heap of salmon trout and big trumpters and your set for a night,i marked and had to drill water inlet and out let and fit skin fittings and pumps but it's not that hard ju
  8. Cheers adamibinfishin and Ranger who can i contact regarding having a look around and finding out waiting list and how do i join up?
  9. Ranger you live out salisbury way, whats traffic on the road like, sounds like one for me at that club, car fuel goes up along with boat fuel but no weed and the risk of someone running up the bum of the boat goes up to.
  10. Hi fisho86 $270.00 per year, weed and ramp out of water at low tide is FREE.
  11. Thanks ranger can you take people through to have a look or give me a contact number whats the ramp like at low tide, any weed to contend with what about traffic useing the ramp at one time, car and trailer security any good.Cheers Paul
  12. That's what iv'e been doing on the last 3 outings launch at public ramp, lock the car in the club and walk around the problem that slows me down is on return there is 12 boats trying to get out and 3 launching make's it a bit hard when my car is locked away around the other side, you think thay would fix the problem because trailer boat's is were there money is at i pay fee's,launch boat and wash it down and go home it's costing the club nothing to have ramp members there so you would think they would encourage more,i know 6 other trailer boats would love to join as it's the only private club ou
  13. I'm in the private boat club at st.kilda and have a private ramp which is a disgrace to launch and retrieve from as the weed is out of control and at low tide the end of the ramp is out of water to retrieve,as i tow my boat with an old commodore the private club with no public being able to damage or even steel the car or trailer and have been a member for years and years and years i feel the ramp and weed problems aren't going to be looked at as the committee and office bearers have their boats moored in the water all the time and the ramp is not a problem to them,so i'm looking to join-up in
