  1. Does anyone know of a website or similar where I can date old alvey reels based on serial numbers
  2. drag wasnt too tight, and it ended getting snagged on the crab net, the rod was loaded up when it snapped
  3. Hello,If I have a 2-4kg rod, and 2.4kg berkley fire wire, what should break first under strain?
  4. has anyone here caught a fish, say a tommie and used it as bait with out returning to shore? you may not be doing anything technically wrong, but you cannot 'mutilate' fish on board a boat.one example I can think of
  5. Anyone know of any servos that sell bait, esp north of glenelg
  6. Hey,Just wondering the best way to rig up live bait, for instance, slimies or ST's
  7. thanks guys really good info, I did read the other related post as well. I do have another question, what else do people troll from in the port river, I had a rig with a KG head on it, and it got smashed by something, rod made a massive noise in the holder, but it didnt hook on, any ideas what type of fish would have done that, the KG head was too big for an ST to have a go
  8. Thanks, I tend to troll between 3 and 4 knots, is this around the mark
  9. Hey all, What lures do people prefer to use to catch salmon trout, when trolling and when stationary. There are so many to choose from, wouldn't mind a bit of help to save a heap of cash through trial and error. Currently been using prawns or cockles on either a paternoster rig or a brem/flathead running sinker rig
  10. I was wondering about the californian squid, everyone says fresh is best, what do you target mainly
  11. Hey,What are peoples thoughts or experience with using the berkley fireline fused original compared against monofiliment and braid options. The website is pretty vague, stuff looks nice though
  12. where can you buy them for that price? bcf have the reel listed at $185, sportsfishing list it at 99, is there somewhere cheaper
  13. Thanks, I do want to target mullies down the track, but snapper to start with, was thinking this combohttp://www.rayannes.com.au/daiwa-shimano-reels-australia/rod-reel-combos/boat-jigging-combos-spin-overhead/shimano-btr4500b-baitrunner-snapper-combo-199/
