Just wondered why there are no Australian made braids (that I know of) at affordable prices. To me, braid seems very expensive for what it is,, especially when spooling up the likes of a tiagra 30w. Il admit, I do buy the Chinese stuff on ebay...its cheap...does the job...and hasn't let me down. I can get 2000metres of 80lb braid for 65 bucks. Its no bells and whistles braid but it does the job , and iv had this braid on SOME reels for 3 years with no faults, I cant afford to fish $200 jerry brown braid per 600yrds, when I potentially get busted off twice in a session. Why is good

will heavy braid 60-80lb damage these guides over time ? or is it fine to run heavy braid through these guides ?

I just noticed on Alan Hawks website he has listed the Fin nor lethal 100 as top 4 in the world for spinning reels up there with the 1000 dollar reels, I have one of these reels but yet to put it through its paces....anyone else got one of these and given it the "beat down" ? are they really that good ?

I just split them down middle, splash oil on meat season with sea salt and crack black pepper, 6 mins shell side up on bbq, then flip em over , big dollop of garlic and parsley butter on, let that melt, serve with fresh lemon wedges and salad. cant really beat that I don't think. keep it simple.

Hi guys, I bought a second hand International 50 vsw and although im loving the reel we have noticed that the clicker is a lot quieter than the tiagra's .....its a possibility that the previous owner has worn down the clicker somewhat but I also googled it and a few people have said even from new out the box the clicker is very quiet on theres also.... The question I have is is there anyway of making the clicker louder on this reel ? and what do I need to do/replace ? cheers, Ash.

Whats the difference apart from obvious between line one jerry brown braid and the hollow type ? are they good casting braids ?

@ storm boy ...those reels look sexy man.....what do you use them for ? what would you use for flicking lures at salmon ?

iv just been using 15lb mono lately to be honest lads.....tI ried braids from 15lb-30lb on overhead reels abu 5000-6500 and just ever 6 casts or so bird nest central when lure fishing.....very annoying with the fish are on the bite.......will stick with mono for now I think haha

I had a 7000i brand new....absolute junk. have bought second hand Swedish older models since, the 5000 is my fav

Has anyone got additional kayak mounts on a standard car roof rack ? what brands are good ? I have a standard front and rear style car roof rack as apposed to side roof racks ,looking to fix some kind of fitting to the standard roof racks to enable me to safely hold a kayak, if that makes sense ? can anyone please point me in the right direction for quality brands etc ? as I say, I already have the roof rack fitted to the car, just need additional fittings to hold yak properly . cheers

Keen to get on the braid with my overhead reel (abu's) for flicking my 60g slugs around, have mastered the mono but would prefer to use braid when lure fishing. Anyone on this site use overhead reels with braid for lure flicking ? what brand/lb would you recommend for starting off ? was thinking 20lb but have read some people go 30lb (seems heavy to me) cheers,
