  1. sounding like salt creek is a safer option... Just cant seem to get a decent mully from there as yet!!!
  2. thanks for the info! targetting mostly fish from the surf rather than marina though mate.Hoping for a big 60lb mully or decent Bronzie/Gummy.Can only hope. Cheers MM
  3. if your spending that much money on a rod i would be thinking about maybe upgrading your reel to match it... i use a saltist shore jigging 8"7' + daiwa phantom 4500 spooled with 30 lb braid usually 40 lb fluro leader handles everything that has been thrown at me so far.
  4. Hey everyone,Planning a fishing trip in about a months time, Gonna load up the Nav and head down to Robe for the first time as my mate has just purchased a suzuki sierra and wants to see how it runs.Just wondering if it's worth it for a big fishing trip or are we better off just going west coast or just putting in the hours at salt creek? Going to be camping there for 4-5 nights and doing a :c load of fishing! Primarily from the beach but might give it a crack off the rocks if i can find somewhere promising..Any info on the area would be greatly appreciated!!Thanks for your time, MM
  5. Yeah it is on both sides of salisbury highway just after south road, get on google earth if you are still having trouble finding it.. I thought that it would be a no fishing zone for the obvious reasons... Bit disappointing, i thought there might even be a few redfin lurking around care free getting nice and FAT waiting to be tempted by my lure :pinch: I guess it is just another 1 of those things we (In SA) will never fully understand. Something needs to be done about our freshwater fishing!!MM
  6. Hey everyone, Every time i drive up the port express way i wonder if it would be worth casting a line or even a lure around. Has anyone had a crack here before and would be willing to shed some light?Cheers, MM
