I just read the new release and I find it quite stupid. We all knew that the fishers were going to get bent over in the long run. The permanent fishing restrictions wont stop illegal fishing activities, I see people all the time fishing using wind on leaders, 400lb stainless steel wire trace and hooks up to size 12/0 between the hours 5 AM to 9PM. Because there is a limited number of Fisheries Officers in South Australia the chances of get caught on our metropolitan beaches is very low even if someone does reports it to fishwatch.
