yepppp..thats the one i seen ! wouldnt even attempt it ...i just make sure that what ever knot i tie i always lubricate it and TEST it,, even use my feet for more preasure sometimes.

what about using a 50 size reel' date='with braid & a mono topshot? You would have HUGE line capacity & a much lighter reel than a 80, which would be more comfortable on a extended fight...[/quote']these are good points and need to be considered FSW, have a mate that fishes with me using 100m nylon topshots of 80lb mono underneath 80 lb braid on a LRS 50.....a nice set up , but i cant dig braid on an overhead fullstop.....just me.

That fg knot looks good but im not even gonna try it ...it looks way to complex for this bloodknot fisher!
-
have bought parts from hendon a few times now ... not sure if they service reels ..givem a ringspartan is on the money

Remember ....the more line u have out the more chance of break off from stones n reef .SO id get the 80 and fill it with 130lb to try and stopem quicker . A game chair would be nice to go with that set up too.Dont know too much bout leaver drag reels realy .Go for the 80 lb set up and see how you go ,you can realy give them some stick with 80lb.even on ur 9/0 maybe try 80lb ....i changed my line from 52 lb pretest on my penn 9/0 to 80lb stren. see if i get a hit !

Great stuff JJ in tuff conditions too , nice fish and video mate, well done.

Nice fish mate and good job with the video too ,enjoyed that thanks!

It depends on where im fishing really and how many fish there are at my location.Circles if theres a big school and j hooks if im waitin for bites or runs.Depending on what bait im using determines the size of the hook/hooks...single 7/0 circle for fish peices (usually boat fishin).Single j style 6/0 hook for landbased , and 2 j hook octopus if using pilies.

This summer there seems to be quite a few large brozies caught off local beaches yes,and for me its all weather related after years of drought on land and sea, finally the rivers are flowing and the sharks have come as the rivers act like burley streams. The Minister should be advised by PIRSA that this is just probably a freak summer and normallythere isnt this many large sharks caught of local beaches. lets see if our minister listens to the people he pays!Id like to know how they can ban JUST shark fishing? calling the press isnt a good idea for us either, but ive noticed quite a few been landed in daylight hrsthis year and this is why the press are there..too many non fishos see the capture.i used to be the only one sharking in the mornings now it not like that.well now that its raining lots they will be swimming up the Torrens . becarfull mums and dads when your kids are feeding the ducks!my $2 worth!

i hope it dried ok' date=' toherwise it will slowly run around and blob up under the rop.i bought a spit rotator from hardware shop' date=' made a plate to mount it, and ducttape the rod butt to it... its nice and slow turning, and is supported on a couple of rollers on the rod lentgh[/quote'']think i put heaps of hardner so it would dry quicker too.It was a few years back on a couple of penn sticks. They worked out fine so brushed some onto a couple of game rods as well.Im happy with the result so far , and even thinkin bout another coat.good thinkin rocknev ,thanks . plenty of spit motors gettin round this Greek house.you got me worried now rocknev !! lol i brushed on the 2 part mixture and spun it for maybe 12 min BY HAND too! seemed to have worked ok -

Why not samboman, kingys luv structure and the entrance at grange/tenyson has a structure, some might eventually find the entace and swim all the way under military road. as for sharks in westlakes, if small ones got in there 7 or 8 years ago surley they will grow bigger in westlakes, or even if people did release a few in there years ago , they might breed in there as well. It would be sweet to go sharking in westlakes ayyy! and actually capture 6-7 footers

A mate of mine rekons he had a 30cm bream on as a livebait and it was bitten in half. that was 10 years ago ,so maybe there are a few bronzies in there! never know....As for kingys ,ive was told many years ago by a cousin that he seen them one morning timmer pde end.i rarley fish the lake nowdays.might try balloong in there for a laugh

Funkychicken, cant help u with accomadation but kingscote jetty is one of SA's best rec fishing platforms, day time might be a little slow at times , but you will still catch squid , tommies and gar. King george whiting are there as well if ur patient, kingfish, salmon .At night this jettyturns into a snook mans paradise...lol even good size trevally can be caught .its a top spot and easy fishing.
