  1. spot you put me onto was for and how to get shrimp a bit further north mate ;) Have a read back through your PMs with me - might've told someone else about a squirrel patch round there, not me !

  2. I reckon it was late spring 2 years ago I went though there, at a dodge tide....Could spot salmon, some would have been pushing 40cm or so I reckon. Big fish - but only ever caught barely legals around there. I'm positive they were salmon as well - sunny day, could see them clearly.

  3. I've gotten into it pretty recently...Just bought my first decent outfit, loving it!I started by catching a few redfin and trout in SAFWAA dams - with a $70 7 weight combo I picked up here on S+H. Lord Blackbilly held a fly-fishing day at his property several months back - where newbies were paired up with more experienced fishos. It was here I caught my first fish, after popping the cherry it all came much faster!SAFWAA has fly rods that are up for loan to members - with membership a mere 60 bucks a year it would be a great place to try flyfishing, and also have someone take you out and give you a few pointers. Without it I would've strugged through teaching myself more than I already did.Not trying to shamelessly plug the club, but is sure did help me out!

  4. Burley up with creamed corn.... Cast into where you throw your burley in - I've always used bread squashed into balls, it casts much easier too.good luck, its pretty simple fishing and hopefully you'll get a few.

  5. basically every stream/lake has them. A few posts on here about Wirrina - don't know about legal anymore though.Google Earth is your friend!Last thing about SAFWAA's dams - they're all basically around Meadows/Willunga Hill - you wouldn't regret it if you ever get in the fresh. Cheers

  6. A wise choice will see you recoup your investment fully come time to upgrade' date=' and it still lets you get out fishing, while providing you time to save a bit more, which will get you into a boat you'll be a lot happier with, and have a lot more confidence in.[/quote']Awesome point that I've also heard from another fella who knows his boats (WB). If you buy a good tinny you'll find the depreciation on it isn't a whole lot... Which is great for a first boat. This is what I'll be looking at at some point.... Once the travelling bug has released its hold
