Can't stand the disappointment, was onto a Dirty Dog Tuna for 45mins, on a jig, saw it twice, skipper & colleagues gave it better than 80lbs, unfortunately the dilema of fishing barbless hooks can sometimes sting as it did on this occasion. Finatic

Agree with all the above, unfortunately current fisheries studies indicate Snapper have not spawned anywhere near the expected rate over the last 2 years(even though lots of pinkies are around), this could be drought related, it could be the fact that we all now know & hammer the local offshore winter spawn grounds, it could be that the last 3 summers have been exceptional catches or it could be the law of the jungle with the amount of White Sharks nailing them. Each of the last 3 years has shown a shortfall of total allowable catch from Pro sector so I can't see them taking a reduction. F

Not everybody ever has the opportunity to deck a Kingy over 15k, let alone have it on & at the boat in less than 10mins, only to be lost to the gaffman or worse, the propellor. Thats right, in an almighty lunge under the marlin board whilst the gaffman was slashing at it, the Kingy of a lifetime slid away to freedom with a 18" torpedo squid & a 10/0 hanging out of its mouth.
