  1. hahaha you should give it a go, get the whole family involved u can get the kids making the pasta as its almost impossible to screw up and if u can boil something u could cook it! good luck
  2. thanks heaps for your help guys will hopefully have more luck with the yellowfin whiting now!
  3. have been seeing the ads for the sunbeam food saver that vacuum packs food, would this be useful for freezing fish?
  4. went out on the boat on sunday could see a school of garfish but couldnt catch em for some reason... anyway decided to put a crab net down and got 5 huge blueys so decided to make them into pasta, it takes a while but its very worthwhile. boil and clean the meat out of the crabs make some pasta (plenty of different recipes on the net) and then make little bite sized packets of the joyful tasting stuff!.. it takes a while but if you make lots of it you can freeze it for simple almost ready to eat meal. try not to use sauces that are too overpowering as u dont want to lose the taste of the crab,
  5. thats fantastic will have to get some worms soon then!, can you freeze them to store them?? i know it would kill them but would it be a good way to stock decent amounts of them? also how do u keep em alive?
  6. i was told that you can get them all the way down to grange jetty, is this true? any help would be appreciated
  7. why would u want em to sink? if your targeting a fish like yellowfin whiting off a jetty would berley placed on the bottom of the ocean tempt them from the crowded end of the jetty??
  8. thanks for the quick replys guys im tempted to get a few cause im a uni student and cant afford much bait so i figure the berkeley gulp stuff should last longer than live bait..
  9. you know what annoys me, the fact that while driving to the beach you are faced with a MUCH MUCH MUCH greater risk of injury/death than you are when you get in the water. These facts come from the US but they still illustrate the point the fishing community should be pushing very hardCar Crash Stats: There were nearly 6,420,000 auto accidents in the United States in 2005.The financial cost of these crashes is more than 230 Billion dollars. 2.9 million people were injured and 42,636 people killed.About 115 people die every day in vehicle crashes in the United States -- one death every 13 minute
  10. is there anywhere near west lakes that you can get worms? i had a mate tell me you could get them there dunno if hes talking shit or not
  11. hey guys just after some advice on the soft plastic beach worms in the berkeley gulp range, ive looked on youtube and most of the people that seem to use these are the guys that chase bass in the lakes and dams of america these fish have huge mouths too, i bought some tubeworms a little while back to chase yellow fin whiting went to brighton jetty and got none while my friends around me using the same bait got 3.. the tube worm was shit it wouldnt stay on the hook and it was like complete mush, i kept it in the laundry overnight so maybe that was the problem but im just wondering if anyone has
  12. hey gave mine a go down at grange jetty, got 2 mullet i believe. never really get much fish off the jetty just go there for crabs but it seemed to work because i had bites all throughout the night i just couldnt seem to hook the fish, dunno why
  13. yeah i saw the show its pretty much exactly the ame except for the lack of chili powder, haha yeah when you deep fry it you can eat most of the cartilage inside the crab but im not really a fan of it although its texture is kinda like potatoe chips after deep frying, ill just have to keep going fishing i guess haha keep trying it
  14. my favourite crab recipe is to prepare the crabs and crack the claws and then dip the pieces into a mix of cornflour salt pepper some chilli powder chinese all spice and then to deep fry, im just struggling to find the right amount of time to deep fry the crab for ive heard that around 2 minutes is about right, does anyone know if this is correct?
