Southie picked me up at 6am an by the time i was ready we headed round to pick up Mully madness for 6:30 . We decided to have a lure flick down the Onk for starters . We had a good go using different combinations of lures but with a couple of sniffs there was no solid hook ups . Walking around the bank i had a flock of geese fly over my head an just missed me , provided a good laugh for the fellas . Some one suggested foutain vally for a crack at some carp or anything else that would bite , so we headed off to try some thing different before i was noticed . Got to foutain vally and rigged up my 12lb line with hooks and no leader . Had a few nibbles and was teased a few times but nothing really grabbed my line but . I did get snagged a couple of times just a couple of metres in front of me which had me thinking there was a branch under the water ! Got a message from home and new i was down to my last cast . My line was in the water for about 5min before i had a good srike and hooked up on to a 48cm carp . It tried to get into the reeds three times before Mully used the net to land it .
