After looking into it, I have suddenly decided that I'll have a crack at it. I was just wondering whether anyone would mind letting me in on what line, hooks and sinkers they use when targetting carp in there?Help is greatly appreciated. afishyfish 4 Posted August 1, 2011 Report Share Posted August 1, 2011 IM0 sinkers aren't needed, as a rule anyway.Most guys I know just use a 3-6 kilo mainline, with a a short leader tied on, ending with a size 6-7 longshank hook.If you want more distance, you can increase your casting weight by using different sized swqivels, or up it a bit more then with a sliding sinker.As with all fishing, the lighter the better. I also like try an leave just a little slack in the line so i can see it get nibbled on and then when the line tightens bang i strike . Good luck . Quote Link to post Share on other sites
smokeykebab 175 Posted August 1, 2011 Report Share Posted August 1, 2011 rig i use for carp anywhere is 2lb mono with a 6lb leader maybe 50cms long. size 2 suicide hook and a ball of bread mashed onto the hook. works well in the torrens and mawson lake for me so don't see why it wouldn't work at fountain valley. some from today Quote Link to post Share on other sites
