COCKLE QUOTAS, A DISASTER IN THE MAKING

Recommended Posts

Guy's, you thought cockles were tough this season gone, just wait till next year. Of the 1100 tonnes allocated to the cockle fishers this year, only 630 tonnes were harvested, primarily due to the poor season & lack of cockles available to the commercial sector in their harvest areas.Guess what!!A significant reduction to the total quota will be imminent, so todays prices at approx $10-$15 a kilo will for sure be set to skyrocket again, nothing more certain. That coupled to fuel @ $2 a litre, not a cheap thing anymore is it?Finatic
