Cal 480
G"day lads,I have a spool of genuine braided line laying around the place [as opposed to fireline/gelspun.I am thinking about spooling up the spare spool of my exceler with it .Always used fireline but since I"ve got the other stuff may give it a crack...but have some reservations, the braid is very limp and my worry is does it dig into itself when used on an eggy or is this type of line fine for it.Cheers
afishyfish 4
G'day Cal.I have a couple of reels spooled up with braid, and both brands are a pretty limp type. From what Ive experienced its like any other digging in problem, just wind it on under trension and you should be OK. Chief 706
How Doin' CalTrick I got told is to wind it on your reel from the bought spoolThen transfer the Braid to another reel then wind it on your choice reelLot of winding but worth it Dont Know why it is but it does seem to stop the cutting in on itself on the spool And yep as AFF said must be under tension when you start good luck Cal I love my soft braids being I only ever used fireline before
