CallopHunter 1
Hi S&Her's,Just wondering whether anyone has used deep water jigging for snapper. I've seen the lucanus jigs and Shimano butterfly jigs. I really want to get a few before my new year trip to marion bay. Any help on weight for around 40-60m, technique and or style would be greatly appreciated. CheersCH
advantage 0
Saltiga bay rubber / lucanas type jigs are excellent! Weight wise 1 gram every meter you're fishing in is the way to go unless the tide is really moving you'd go a bit heavier. So 30 meters 30gram jigs.I can't remember the spelling but adageo jigs are good for snapper too.
Discovery Journey 0
get a few shimano lucanus jigsi wouldnt bother with anything elsethey are proven and work better then soft plastics most timesget a few different grams in regards to the depth you fishing you must allow for strong watercurrents so heavyer the better most times as you would rather have heavier jig and know its on the bottom in the zone then lighter drifting through mid waterjust drop to bottom and slowly wind and jig the rodand once feel hit dont strikekeep winding and fish hook them selfs and you will know once the rod loads up when a fish is hooked. urhookedfish
