Kayak Noob 76
Hey guys, we're spending a few days down at Coobowie for the long weekend, I was just wondering if there is much on offer either from the beach or paddling around in the Yaks :woohoo: Also, are there squid in that area, or would I better driving back up to Wool Bay for the jetty, or possibly paddling the area around that jetty/ pt giles jetty? Guest macstyles
Coobowe is an exceptional place for fishing. Had a holiday shack there a few years back. Look around for sand patches in around 2-3m deep for big kgs, gars and tommies. Squid anywhere in the bay over the weed beds. On a flat still late arvo you can get a quota of squid no probs!! Silver whiting off the beach. Great area for the yak. Good fishing

pauly s 426
if i was out that way id be gettin the yak around pt giles.. further 2wards coobowie after giles there are tracks that run off the road and 1 gets you down to a beach where you could launch the yak. to the right of giles you'll smash squid and whiting will be there. if you get bit of burley happenin and bit of luck could run into few snaps aswell.. Kayak Noob 76
Launched yesterday at lunch time but the tide was going out.... Awful. Water was barely knee deep and not a single whiting.patch in sight. Went to Edinburgh last night. Got 12 Tommies and a nice fat gar fish in 2 hours
