PHUKET DEEP SEA CHARTERS ?

Hi guys, im heading to Phuket in feb , was just wondering if anyone has been on any charters whilst over there and had good experience with them, can you recommend any ?I was thinking along the lines of dog tooth tuna fishing etc...big game stuff .

I have heard "the waters" are heavily over fished though and the fishing charters don't seem to catch much fish.

have you tried googling fishing thailand ,phuket may not e the best place to try charter boat fishing ,i think there is a tackle store known as seven seas that you might be able to contact to get more info about charters

I did a fishing charter around a local reef system while in Phuket a couple of years ago.......not a deep sea charter though.We caught your assorted catfish,usual wrasse type species and a couple of small barracuda about 18 inches long.Speaking with the guide about going further afield for bluewater species,he indicated that you are better off doing a "mother ship" 3 or 4 day tour,rather than a day tripper.The grounds you access on a day trip are "fished out and rubbish" (his words) with only a few small tuna (holds his hands a foot apart) to show for a day of trolling.as Waspy said,try google.Hope this helps a bit.

Ive been on several, cant recall their names. Not the greatest experience. They used spark plugs as sinkers, giant overheads and the biggest fish we caught was about the size of a mullet! Not really worth the money in my opinion. Your better off spending your time drinking cheap singha beer! :whistle: Cheers

hmm...with what you guys have said and reports iv read online....I think il save my baht, and give it a miss. cheers
