Jamie_Born2Fish 0
Hi All, Just wondering if anyone is willing to share a razor fish patch around second valley, if there are any?
archerfish 685
Hi J_B2F Razor fish generally live in a tidal mud/sand flat environment. I doubt you will find anything like that around the Flerieu Peninsula. If you are serious in chasing razors, you'll probably have to try a lot further up north in both Gulf St Vincent and Spencer Gulf. Please be aware that there is currently a closed season in effect in the Upper Spencer Gulf: http://pir.sa.gov.au/fishing/fishing_limits/razorfish Hope this helps. Cheers af
Jamie_Born2Fish 0
Thanks for your input archer. That's what I thought, however thought there might be a secret path somewhere.. I hear they get them in areas of the port tho.
doobie 5,802
I used to get them near Whyalla, I think it was just north of point lowly?
Staveross 0
They are down south there's a big patch in the lagoon with scallops at port noarlunga but there in the reserve. They are everywhere really but there in the weed which is a lot deeper down south. Do you want to wade out or dive?
Jamie_Born2Fish 0
Thanks Staveross, I'd dive for them if they are too deep for razor tongs? Would you find some in the tape weed along the rocks between wirrina and second valley you reckon? Guessing you can't even take razors from the marine park..
Knackers 696
Thanks Staveross, I'd dive for them if they are too deep for razor tongs? Jamie, You won't find them along the shore there at all. You will find the odd green or brown lip abalone though if they haven't all been plundered.
