thats not a shovel nose shark mate iv swam wiv em on the great barrier reaf and they are two very different things... that is a ray tho probably a skate of sum sort.. i wil look it up iv got it in my fish id book i know they only get bout 80cm max from nose to tail tho, there closest cousin around here is melbourne skates (like the one in my banner) they both have a hard bone type noses and similar tails ;) stil close enough to a fidler for me tho ;) ;D

My first fiddler I caught was kept as I heard they are good to eat, was pregnant unknown to me :-[ and when I was cleaning her out came several pups about 15cms long, they thankfully swam off when I put them in the water.

LOL Benny,they definately dont come any smaller than unborn ones.

are u sure they only grow to the 80cm mark... my uncle lives in queensland and he caught a 6footer a week before we came up... may be a different sort like u were saying brooksey.. still sure there a shovel nose though? ive seen them over a meter at woolbay... either i was really drunk or it was over a meter.. a guy pulled 3 from the shallows by spot casting.
