southie THE BANGA 2,304
Hey all ive come up with an simple idea that will hope attracting the bigger fish that are after the likings of flashing shiny flases in the water, for kingies etc. Ok the things you need are:CorksAlfoilstapler or gunsuper gluedrill and small drill bitlong screw or boltthese are the steps as follwed.Grab the cork and cover it in super glue.Take the alfoil and wrap it neatly around the cork tightly a few times, and then add a bit more super glue to the end of the alfoil to seal the end.Wait a few minutes for the glue to dry.grab your staple gun and place a few staples over the loose ends to keep it nice and tidy.Drill a hole through eitha end of the cork big enough to get whatever size line u want, but not to big so a swivel or stopper can go through.place the screw through the hole a few times to clean the hole so you can guide the line through with ease. And there you have it, it works like this. if float fishing u have your bigger bobby float up stop with a stopper knot that can go through your guides ie. a reef knot, then after each gap have your corks apart from there on in to whatever length you want and to stop them sliding up and down eitha use float stoppers or swivel or whatever you like lol, then you have ur leader then your float. and what happens is when you have your bait on like a pilly or squid the smaller shiny corks sink down with it but the bigger bobby float stays upright, so with the sun shining and the shiby corks under the water it looks like a silver flash comming from the waster and fish will come within a flash. you can use them for bottom fishing to its the same method but without the bigger float up top.Well hope this gives people and idea and a bit of help catching that big one. Hope to see Yous out in the water Brayden
kayakfisher 0
I've often considered using those squid floats with the mirrors around the bottom part for things like kings and salmon. I should really give it a go. Have you had any success with this method?
southie THE BANGA 2,304
ive had success with the mirror floats but these corks just give it an extra reflection in the water i and looks like a small school of bait fish and preadatorial fish be tempted to go and have a suss out.
