Mick013 2
Im sure everones already got their own methods for protecting reels during travel but this is a simple 2 min job that can last ages. When i was going fishing last week, my self and a mate were going by ute and i didnt want my reel getting trashed. What i did was find a lonely, fluffy sock and cut the toe end off so there was an opening at both ends. Simply feed the sock over the handle first and then up the reel and over the spool. It doesnt come off and it protects both the spool and the bottom of the reel, allowing it to be placed in any position..only down side is its difficult to cover the handle but thats getting a bit fussy... heres a pic to help.(sorry the pics a bit fuzzy)Cheers Michael

afishyfish 4
Great tip, but why cant you just use a longer sock and save cutting the toe off Also if ya go on a fishing trip, take two rods n reels and at least if you fall in you've got two dry socks to wear home again
