Del 245
ive scene them used at st kilda break water.. NOT HAPPY!!!! those people just piling everything into their buckets and getting away with it..
vb4me 1
Used to use them for bait collection on the GC but they can be misused very easily. Lot of by catch. Prawners used them regularly. Very efficient way of catching prawns. Whatever is by catch can and should be released ASAP.
Del 245
ive seen them in use in youtube clips, and i can understand the bait catching abilities.. and id have thrown one around if i had one when i was a kid.. but we just used a mesh hand net and some bread for gathering bait

vapor 0
it wont happen, the fishery is too fragile.we target the prawns in the late stages of their life cycle, the ones amatuers would catch are the spat that feeds the gulfsprawns have a life cycle of around 4 years. vb4me 1
Would that be the case if fisheries declared a certain time frame for when it was legal. Sort of like the snapper ban but in reverse. Pretty sure thats what it was in Qld. There was only a month or so where it was legal to target prawns.
