disturbed1 0
salting them always works for me- i just line them up on newspaper in my backyard on a warm sunny day- i use plain Saxa Salt- sprinkle salt on one side of them, wait half a day, turn them over and do the other side, wait the second half of the day- always be ready with a broom or whatever to keep the neighbourhood cats away and they are all good for fishing- hope this helps you out a bit, cheers
Softy 2,991
At the risk of getting told off....go to the "Dorsal Fin" at Cavan if you want decent Pillies.

Works very well for me. I use plastic bucket and layers of salt and pilchards. keep it in my shed for 4-5 days then go fishing or just freeze them.
rocknev 2
dont forget to keep the salt... thats where all the blood and oil ends up, and makes a great berley.
