Tuna record broken twice more

Recommended Posts

n just a week, Port Fairy man Shane Cromie watched his new record for Victoria's biggest tuna vanish hook, line and sinker. And not just once, but twice. On Friday, Queensland fishing identity Alistair McGlashan snatched top place with a whopping 154.6kg fish caught west of Port Fairy. But the next day Khal Kassab, 44, from Craigieburn, edged him out by reeling in a 156.4kg tuna, the second biggest caught in Australia. It took Mr Kassab, and three others 2 1/2 hours to reel in the monster fish, in about 50m of water in the same area."It took a lot of energy," he said."It's the fish of a lifetime."The tuna filled many stomachs in Portland, with Mr Kassab generously handing out pieces to locals..Posted Image
