Chigsy01 0
G'day readers, last christmas for a work outing we were lucky enough to be treated to a charter from Holdfast bay.We ended up dropping nets with bottles tied to them every 50m or so and then doing the rounds to pick up, it was quite effective. Are there any restrictions on recreational boaties from doing this type of catching method?Numbers of nets, markings on bottles etc...Cheers. brenton 637
The normal restrictions apply,3 double ring nets per person and you are supposed to use a float of 4litre capacity(i think)with your name on it also you have to stay in the vicinity. cheers brenton
hoopsy 697
gday m8 i always crab this way only way to do it imo as brent said if u got 3 on board u COULD run 9 double ring nets this way by law i find 6 is plenty and it works m8 also drift back too the 1st net for squid @brenton i think u only have to have ur name on them if u leave them and yes float has to be min 4lt oil bottles work well
