  1. :'(bummer dude but i know how ya feel. I have an artificial right shoulder joint and that needs replacing again and am currently out of action until after surgery. But not all is lost. I can spend my recovery time makin sure my gear is right for when i get back out.......get well soonsteve
  2. Hi All,have been having a chat with waterboy and hope to get something soon. The shoulder is an issue however casting only shorter distances, sight casting and making sure i give it a rest frequently i have found only helps me that is why i have been unable to chase the sharks at the mouth as i no longer have the strength or the movement to fight them or cast for them. The sp style i think is better suited to me.....thx for all comments too! greatly appreciated :icon_e_biggrin:
  3. Note the sounder name in szkolka's pic :o :icon_lol: :icon_lol: :icon_lol:

  5. Yeah thanks guys,http://www.strikehook.com/component/option,com_smf/Itemid,78/topic,121.60/this is the link to the gummy I caught. Was a good night actually. We landed 22 mullys however all undersized and returned fit and healthy. 1 salmon which was used for bait and the gummy.Must say that all fish were caught at night!!!!! The sunrise was spectacular to say the least. There were many shots taken that morning of the rise and this one was submitted to channel 10 news for the extreme weather calendar. It didnt make the calendar but made it on the news so a bit of a buzz for me.....Hopefully mor
  6. Hi All,just another Goolwa pic of a beautiful sunrise I took while me and a mate were gummy fishing..cheerssteve [file name=XCiPeiwF__untitled.bmp size=810054]http://www.fishyorkepeninsula.com/images/attachments/XCiPeiwF__untitled.bmp[/file]
  7. Hi Ausea, hence the reason why i chose the Okuma as the price is in my range....$200+ out of my reach im afraid
  8. Hi Leethal, mainly for Bream in the Onk, Trouties at the Goolwa Mouth near the dredge. The heavier plastics for snapper which i already have gear for. Obviously something with lots of bearings would be good however a good drag is of most benefit hey..Waterboy,I dont really have a set style anymore due to having an artificial shoulder thats getting worse and needs a rebuild again, so i like to get out and try alot of things. Like you I have very little money to spend on new gear and would like something that can cover most applications.cheerssteve
  9. sunday mornings on the lifestyle channel you have fishing western australia followed by Ifish....aurora has hooked, fishing trip etc etc
  10. Hi Guys, getting into soft plastics for when i cant get out on the big blue and I am looking for opinions on small reels. I currently have an Okuma AV20 with 12lb braid which is fine but I also have an Abu Cardinal Pro T1000F....any thoughts?steve
  11. do you want the fillets skinned...... :icon_lol:

  13. Hi Brooksey,iv'e never had any problems catching gummies there. I just pick a night when the moon is full and the winds arent too heavy.steve
  14. hi waterboy, any ideas on dates for that trip. should be in either this week or next
  15. Thanks Luke,as i said it was being very lazy and was hoping i wouldnt notice i guess :icon_lol: considering all of the gummies i have caught from there was very very lazy. Until it felt the hooks i guess.....I have found it best on a full moon for the big ones with a little occasional cloud cover and a SW Breeze.Used old school grappling sinker on a 1 mt trace with a single dropper/2 hooks (mustad 5/0) and a large squid head.....mmmmmm squiiiid.......
