  1. Yet I've got friends raving about how good the cockling is down at Goolwa at the moment! {SMILIES_PATH}/huh.gif What gives? We're told they're in short supply and there's none around down at Goolwa at the moment, yet the guys down there hunting for them are saying they're plentiful? Are the's pro now capitalizing, and misinforming us?
  2. I coulda let Mrs Finance Manager negotiate the transaction, coz surely HER face can be trusted! And if anyone tells her otherwise, she'll run em through and make em taste cold steel! {SMILIES_PATH}/grin.gif
  3. Just for the members of NDSFC while we're here, I did a google search since this thread was put up, and found two NDSFC sites. One of which was isolated and quarantined by my virus check as a hidden trojan was found. It may pay ya to investigate this, coz I'd hate to see ya havin pc problems coz of it.

I currently have a building site with heavy earth moving equipment right behind my back fence, and my entertainment area abutts the back fence. Hence everything I own is currently covered in a thick layer of red clay dust (outdoor setting, bbq, spa, car, boat, caravan, dog), and being fairly anal I'd be too embarrassed for anyone to see it the way it currently is.Once building is complete though, I'm certain something suitable can be arranged. Oh, ya better listen to some of the other members here though when they tell ya about some of the things I eat!We actually had a "baitfest" here not so
  6. Vixen, go tell ya boys it's true about keeping them moist, but ya also have to keep maggots warm to make em real wriggly, and that's why they need to keep the maggots in their mouths! They'll be able to feel em gettin more wriggly on their tongues too! Just tell the boys not to swallow, and resist the urge to hiccup at all costs! {SMILIES_PATH}/grin.gif
  7. Marriage'll do that to ya! {SMILIES_PATH}/wink.gifThe grey is camoflage, so the lil fishies cant see me against the overcast sky, when I'm tossin my lil placky things at em! {SMILIES_PATH}/grin.gif

Yep, they're bl**dy expensive! {SMILIES_PATH}/grin.gifCold smoking is the normal process done in the smoking boxes you pick up at tacklestores! Cold smoking dries and preserves the meat.Hot smoking cooks the meat as it smokes. This locks in the moisture and doesn't preserve. The hot smokers are made in New Zealand, they're sturdy, reliable and they last the test of time. It works similar to an electric frypan, with racks to lay the fish out on.This should help ya out wiv any info ya need:http://www.hydraflow.co.nz/anuka.htmlI picked mine up from Salisbury Tackleworld about 2 or 3 years back. I

I'm gonna jump in wiv a blatant plug for Hillmark industries!I recently had dealing wiv them, and I was left STUNNED!I've got one of those Anuka electric hot smokershttp://www.hydraflow.co.nz/images/anuka-shot.jpgand after a lot of use, I finally broke the plastic knob on the timer control.A quick hunt around, and I discovered the Aust distributer for these things was an Adelaide company (Hillmark Ind).I got onto the blower to them, and although they are no longer the distributor, they stock spare parts, and organised to get a replacement knob out to me.Whilst on the phone, the guy from this c
  11. Well I've got a bit of a problem wiv em, and I'd really like to discuss this wiv someone from that Sheldon's Bait company!Longlife, sure, I had no problem, but it was the FLAVOUR which is givin me an issue.I'm not sure what it is! It's on the tip of my tongue, but I just can't quite place it! I must say though, it left quite a bitter aftertaste! Nutty? Tangy? Nope, I think Fred summed it up in a word! FUNKY!!! {SMILIES_PATH}/sad.gif
  12. Even though I wouldn't admit it under normal circumstances, I have a Sienna here loaded with 6lb braid! Not the greatest reel I've owned, but it still throws braid and catches fish ok!
  13. I recon this is a setup! {SMILIES_PATH}/undecided.gifYou lot all bag my "studley fishin type dude" shirt, but you're fine wiv pink instead? {SMILIES_PATH}/huh.gif
  14. What flavour? {SMILIES_PATH}/huh.gif {SMILIES_PATH}/tongue.gif {SMILIES_PATH}/grin.gifActually, if it works it aint such a bad idea! {SMILIES_PATH}/wink.gif
  15. I dunno what you lot have got against my shirt! Geez, next time I'll wear a loud one! Pink alright wiv you lot? {SMILIES_PATH}/sad.gif
  16. Ditto! When the mud is peeled away, the skin is removed with it, and that gets rid of a lot of the "muddy/dirty taste", but at the end of the day, it was still carp and still full of bones.I also had it soaked in a brine and smoked. That actually made it half palatable!
  17. there was actually someone else a few months back, before Bennyboy had his trip, but thanks anyway.
  18. Excellent, thanks for that explanation Yak!It seems fisheries are having problems interpteting their own regulations given the number of backflips they do on some issues! As it stands "THIS WEEK" Mullet mix is acceptible! {SMILIES_PATH}/grin.gif
  19. Can I ask where this info comes from, coz fisheries refused to put that into writing when asked a coupla weeks back?
  20. I'm not a mullet fisho, but I'll share what I know.Mullet mix is now a no no under the new regulations, so I'd use either gents, small pieces of cockle, worm or bread mix on a two hook rig.Light weight, and slowly jig the rig through the water, berleying often!
  21. All top advice!I don't believe you will EVER eradicate wind knots, especially when you get down to 4lb and/or under, but all these steps will help to reduce them, especially the bit about winding it back on under tension through ya fingers!
  22. I said I'm interested to purchase it, pm'ed ya and left ya my details? Why didn't you call me?
  23. I gits around mate, I gits around! {SMILIES_PATH}/wink.gif
  24. WB, a bit offtrack I know, but thems a coupla nice fish in ya avatar! Local?
  25. Yep, there is that, and that was one of the issues I was faced with when I made my purchase! I decided, that in the interestsof getting the light lures around, I'd grab one anyways, and just keep the inox up to it!Maybe for mulloway, and in a similar bracket, even though it doesn't have the twitching bar, also look at the Alpas 103. It packs a bit more punch than the Viento, and is 50 grams lighter. If the budget extends, go the whole hog for the Zillion. Far stronger drag, and ya get ya choice of gear ratios (7.1, 6.3 or 4.9). Then let me borrow it from ya for a day! {SMILIES_PATH}/tongue.gif
