  1. Cheers fella, my best snapper on 1kg mono, it went 4.5kg, but its not my biggest fish.
  2. My biggest Snapper atm is 10.4kg on 6kg mono. I can not wait for the day when the magic 30lbs comes along. [file name=HctVZWAj__10.4kg_Metro size=77086]http://www.fishyorkepeninsula.com/images/attachments/HctVZWAj__10.4kg_Metro[/file]
  3. David C a mate of mine uses spiderwire, 50lbs i think. Its is tuff stuff but have to take care with it as it is like razor wire. When we where at Pt Augusta this year he hooked up on a large thresher, the thresher wrapped around some other guys rode and cut it staight through and after 30min. we still managed to pull the thresher up close for some pics and then released. Spiderwire is tough stuff.
  4. I dont mind it myself, but found Nitlon was cheaper and probelry that little bit better too.
  5. This is my biggest snook record 2.51kg out from Marion Bay. Caught by drifting a pilchard. http://www.fishyorkepeninsula.com/images/attachments/KA2X0T10__28_04_07_1548.jpg[/img]
  6. I have to agree with all. Our friends at Tackle and Tucker are bloody top people, they deserve all the cred. they get. Keep it up guys.
  7. Right, so you plan on gettin stuck into some big toona from the deep then, I guess. If ya planning a charter let us know I'm up for it, at this stage.Sorry a little off topic
  8. Wow....its out already gee times fly. I must get out a get me the third addition.
  9. Hey BI, I have the Tyrnos 30 myself nice reel indeed. Mine is kitted with a Texaluim 15-24kg stand up 7 footer. Used a few tims trailing skirtted lures for tuna with no luck, fished for Mullies again no luck at this stage and even on the kings, which soon will be having another go in the week. I did take it out one time at Marion Bay jetty for a bit of fun and hooked a large ray, reel worked a treat.Just curious why did you choose the two spd?
  10. Thanks for your input to Shauno. Yes I agree your comment is vaild too.
  11. Well I have finally had a chance to get out on the water for a fish and with the new combo Daiwa Tierrra I won at the Bream-boating day at St Kilda, Thanks to the organisers of the day. What can I say about this combo. I was a very surprised. The reel is very smooth to wind and has a great drag. I spooled the reel with Castaway 10lb. line from St. Kilda Tackle & Tucker, I can not believe how fine a diameter this braid is. great for you breamer'sThe Rod works really well while I was trolling for the ST's you can see the rod tip action vibrating from the lure, very clearly. When hooked up th
  12. Fredyboy I have an SX model and love it. I have modified it a little to get a lighter drag setting. The ratchet on those reels sound aswome on a run too.
  13. I can not remember what blank it was but jockey from the other site has an awsome by rod works which was excellent for casting lures a mile which proved really handy last time when we went out to Locks.
  14. lol.... no worries guys thanks for your input.
