  1. Adamw,After years of trial and error jigging for Samsons and Kings and a lot of reaserch and advice from tackle experts this is how we now rig our customers up. I am not saying it is only way to do it but if done carefully and properly it's hard to beat.We start with a 50 turn bimini twist in your mainline (braid). A quality wind on leader is then attached and wound onto the reel. At the end of your wind on we crimp a suitable size quality ball bearing swivel. Once you have completed this attach a suitable size Owner split ring to the swivel. You will need a quality set of split ring pliers fo
  2. I find it amusing some just can't accept that this is a big squid. I assume those non beleivers prefer pics of fish on those pathetic brag mats or hanging from a set of scales.Maybe I used the same trick photography in these photo's.
  3. He caught it on a bait meant for snapper. Didn't eat it. We thought it would provide 12 months worth of whiting bait.
  4. I have seen a few calamari in my time but this one takes the cake. Caught off Pearson Is I assume it has been feeding on 6 week old grain fed calves and all the roadkill from Pt Lincoln to Elliston.

  6. It was a big Yo-Zuri popper. Same size you would throw at a GT.
  7. I was up there for 3 days. Got nothing on the first day saw one school rise out of casting range.Day two we got 1 first thing in the morning on livies about 15-20kg then nothing all day untill sunset when the water erupted with a school of around 60-100 fish mostly horses.Nothing on day 3 (wasnt fussed by then)The lure I was using was a big Yo-Zuri donated by Ray and Annes.

  12. What a great way to finish of a great season. This King went 43.8kg weighed in a sling. What is in store for next year.

  16. Day 1 we arrived at 5.30am and were able to get 8 squid on first light. Baits were set on balloons at the power station. All day we waited in driving rain for no result. Cold, wet and over it we headed to the pub to drown our sorrows.Day 2 back at the ramp at 5.30 with headaches and no inspiration we launched with a stiff wind already blowing. Squid were near impossible to get as the boat was driftind so fast our jags were skiing alond the surface. After one and a half hours we had a bait each and headed back to the station. Balloons set we waited again. My bait was slammed around 11am on a 24
