  1. Forgot to add if you're dead set on a Shimano then as earlier stated in the thread Saros are a great reel too. Probably a tad more expensive though!
  2. Del wrote: Yep Excelor DA in a 2500 or 3000 if you want that extra line capacity. Should be able to pick one up for $150 - 160 if your budget can stretch that far. Great value for money.....carries quite a lot of features of the more expensive Daiwas!

    best berley mix?

Don't forget to add the curry powder fellas. Works very nicely in the mix too! This can be used as a substitute for aniseed or vice-versa depending on which you have in the cupboard at the time.
  4. @ 1ONMEPILLIE - have you heard this from word of mouth or from people who have seen/used them? What problems have you heard about and what other similar reels represent better value?T BONE - Yeah, I would of thought they represented great value on face value. Glad to hear yours is going well. As you said you're not paying for a Saltiga etc. Thanks guys for your responses. Now clear as mud!... I also notice the Seagate available for around $70 more. Runs a couple of extra CRB bearings, that's the main difference wonder if it's worth the extra?Cheers again.
  5. Anyone got one of the new Saltist spinners yet and if so how do you rate?
  6. Has any one had any experience with these reels. Look pretty good value for around $230 mark. Huge line capacity and claimed 60lbs drag....almost look too good for the money hence my question!ThanksBundy
  7. Any opinions (sure there are lots) on good quality filleting knives. I'm currently looking at Swibo and Kershaw but am open to suggestions!CheersDave
  8. 51lbs back in July this year out past Wedge.Dave
