  1. Any relation to TD on this site
  2. Well that's what you get if one state depends on water which runs through other states. The other states don't give didley squad about SA as long as they get want they want.High time for the Feds to take control and tell the individual states to toe the line or else. Thanks for the pic's finatic, maybe we should all send them to Brumby and Rees and stuf up the email systems like they stuffed up the Murray
  3. Tyke and Ranger stick with it and you won't be sorry.I quit 3 years ago but to late , now I huff and puff with the smallest chores.
  4. Just wondering if Vic fishing licenses pay for this
  5. From today paper in the West:http://www.thewest.com.au/default.aspx?MenuID=77&ContentID=153063Now I don't have a boat so can't comment there but landbased, don't think I'll be paying license fees for the privilidge off putting a line in the water. There is NO guarantee that I catch anything legal and for thatI have to pay a license fee !! Don't think so.If North Tce wants more money, cut out lurks and perks and $ 7000 new car for which we pay. Losers.p.s I have signed the petition too.
  6. That's the best he can do !
  7. From Big Ian: www.mediastatements.wa.gov.au/Pages/default.aspx?ItemId=132159I read the same article the other day.Mind you pollies like other bureacrats would not have a clue apart from sitting on the big derriers.
  8. I the past I have had a couple of occasion where I caught a gar and than had to do battle with a shag as to whom got the gar, that was one thing but I would draw the line at this.ykmv.
  9. I presume in that case most boats will carry a computer aboardfor scanning the depts.
  10. Jetties are crappy enough as is, certainly don't need a toll.
  11. Huba Sorry vb can't seem to upload pic.
  12. from finatic: Head to the outside bend of Port River opposite Sub base & head out to sea scooping & sorting as you go.All due respect to finatic but there is no bend in the river opposite sub base.I think he means opposite power station at Pelican point.
  13. When one calls it as it is seen imho that has nothing to do with being racist. It is a well known fact that people from one particular country will take every thing under the sun.Haven't not seen it myself but was told that one individual takes a mincer with him and fish are minced as soon as caught so fisheries have no hope of catching him unless he does it whilst they are there.Personally had some daggers thrown at me for returning under size fish, fortunately nothing was said.
  14. Says Cal: If you sew up the holes at each end they make excellent livebait keep nets.I presume this is in relation to the pic of the trap ?I must be having a " Seniors " moment , if holes are sewn up, how do you get the live bait in and out ??There are only 2 holes I can see, one each end.
  15. Well up to a point there is no milage in blaming fischeries or police for that matter. It has been a bone of contentioin here for a long long time that those clowns in Victoria squaredon't do their job and being ex lawyers etc, do you get my drift !!!They should be elected on a yearly bases and no performance , no job.At the present the law is an ass and the judiciary a joke.ykmv.

  17. This is what it looks like.Sorry for calling it a net, trap would have been better. [file name=su32jtzI__ft.bmp size=234654]http://www.fishyorkepeninsula.com/images/attachments/su32jtzI__ft.bmp[/file]
  18. Said Big Ian: did it look like this? No, it is more like a square card board box about 600 mm high with a hole each end.Not that it matters because from the answers , nets are illegal period. He was there again today so probably only a matter of time before fisheries catch him.
  19. Bear in mind the I don't know anything about nets except a crab net which I seen being used.Today I seen a guy put a net in the port river, it was aprox 600 mm long and about 250 mm high and 250 deep with a hole in the centre of each end.He said he was using it to catch shitties.I am under the impression that nets are banned in the river and torrens island.I was not going to debate the issue as it is not worth getting into trouble for eg I don't need my head kicked in.Question: it this net legal or are all nets illegial in the river ??

  21. Sorry to hear about your misfortune carps, a real kick in the pants.however that's the sign of the times nowdays and if one voices stronger deterents than the do-gooders pop up with one can't do this and can't do that but off course it does not happen to them. :thumb:
  22. Fist time I seen a ray caught in the port river. Not sure what kind it is, I estimate barb was about 175-200 mm long( 7-8 inches) and did not get to close ( I ain't Steve Irwin). It was off white colour underneath and grey on top.Picture shows a rod but was only used to push it into deeper water, not to annoy it.Apperantly it has been hooked before because it had another hook in it's mouth. The guy who caught it released it as well. http://www.fishyorkepeninsula.com/images/attachments/dcXE6oxS__ray.jpg[/img]
  23. I fully agree with your 1 st post Cal.
  24. Did any one notice that there were no bidders!!! :icon_e_geek:And I wonder why ??One can fool some people some of the time but one can't fool every body all of the time.
