  1. For those like myself who have never worked on a spool and want to do maintenance, a word of advice. If you need to check drag washers , put your reel in say an empty ice cream container, put spool in container, with a small pair of pliers get hold of spring then cover as much as possible with a clothand pull spring out. This will prevent spring taking of and losing it like I did, very fortunate to get one from tackle store.
  2. Hi all,Well was lucky today, local tackle store had a box with canabilised reels which included a small spool like mine of which i was given a washer and spring click so reel is back in action.
  3. Help please,Following advice I proceeded to have a go at the washers, as I tried to remove the spring which holds in the washers, as soon as I lifted out the spool it took off at a hundred miles an hour and did not even see where it went.the reel appears to be an older one ( not seen on website) and is a shimano aernos 2000Any body know where I would be able to obtain a new spring please and might as well change the washer too.Thanks.pes
  4. Thanks guys, I always back off the drags on my reels but this one was recently aquired. Thanks for the advice, will have a go and see how goes.
  5. Have a reel where the drag is basicly loose or tight with very little in between. Is the any way to fix this so I can have either light, medium or heavy drag for the want of a better explanation.Thanks,pes.

  9. Ranger wrote: So does that mean that there is no boat at the ramp and you reverse and then all of a sudden some one gets in behind you and you then have to pull the boat out again and try another ramp ??
