  11. brother who put his boat in for a serivce a few weeks ago, has been out in a few times since, and its running like a dog... he went out last week in it, came back, and it wouldnt idle... after a washdown and flush, he took it straight back to the mechanic, who said take it back to ramp and put it in the water and he would be there in 20 mins. so clive did... launched, tied up, and put the car and trailer in a parking spot, wondered down slowly saying gday to a few blokes on the way, and gets to the boat...hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm its sitting pretty low... OMG... no bungs, just as the mech turned up
  12. when i had a boat, i launched it without the bungs....put it back on the trailer, and some smartass asked if we forgot the bungs.... " NAW MATE,....WERE JUST RINSING THE INSIDE OUT" sure sure...
  13. i got put onto another spot the other day... ive fished it before, but only in summer.... i got told it may be worth a try in winter as it used to produce pretty well.apprently, 20mtrs out, it drops down to 60 ft or water....so it may be worth a try just to see if anything is hanging in that hole

  16. ive got berkley ( big game ) on my abu7000, excellant in the boat, and ive also used schieder on the alvey. the snyder used to to different, i think so anyway...used to like that stuff, but the last lot i tried, didnt last very long at all.. i made a post up about it somewhere a while back...the berkley, i tried on the rocks, in 30lb... no good for them rocks is my result. as del said, these are not your regular rocks, sharp, craggley, and many a fish have been lost to them......brand new line, some of it quite expensive, just cant handle these rocks.... just falls apart...vb4me's line is hol

  21. hahahahaha..... truth be known, i use the cheapest stuff i can find...which at the moment is jarvis walker stuff in 25 or 30lb, reason being, its changed about every 5 or 6 weeks anyhow, and the rocks i fish tear up whatever line ive tried... the jarvis stuff stretches like hell, but its also a lot thicker than the same breaking strain as the quality stuff.ive tried the expensive stuff, and wasnt that impressed...maxima is very good line, but i cant get it locally in the lentghs i need...vb4me, is running platapus on his alvey, and thats always been a favorite of mine as well...i use an alvey

    Knots

Dubs The Tackle Man wrote: yeah thats the knot i use for my hooks....i try not to read a lot into knots.... what i uses works, and is easy... enough said. tying them at night, using a headlight, in howling wind, soon teachs the easy and fast way to do them.i can tie 2 hooks and a swivel in around 30 seconds, add bait and tie to main line in around a minute if the bait is already cut.good enough for me,

i only know 2 knots.... thats enough... i like to keep it simple, and be able to tie them at speed in the dark if need be. a double or locked bloodknot, which i use to tie swivel on, and whatever its called to tie the hooks to my trace.i like to keep it simple.
