  1. Fantastic video, very clear footage.I lost my Sarca anchor there on the 6th of OctI could have cried when we dragged and I couldn't budge it. The weather picked up (causing the dragged anchor) but also dodgy work trying to release it. I ended up cutting the rope after 15mins of sweat and tears and trying soo many different angles. At one stage we had three of us on the rope trying to make it budge! So there is a no 1 Sarca about 5m of chain and nearly 30m of rope down there that I added to the mark.Bugger! :c :c :c :c
  2. That is nuts!Awesome work out of local metro waters.Especially at a spot that gets that much pressure!Well done manimal!
  3. Must have been one tasty bait! The juveniles are in good numbers, thats all I seem to catch Another thing I do for my patenoster rig is use a lighter line on the sinker dropper, that way if it snags up I only use a sinker and not the whole rig. Doesn't help if the hooks snag up still but prefer to just tie on a new sinker dropper that everything
  4. Cant argue with that, if you've had success it must work ok. I know that feeling when your crazy rebaiting to get back down again.I'd love to know which hook did the damage though.
  5. Interesting chat on circles guys, I've always wondered if I should only have the single circle on the dropper or to snell two. I used to have two standard hooks(big reds) snelled on my dropper but I assume you really only want one circle hook so it can work properly.I figure having two circles close together the furthest hook up the line will catch in the corner of the mouth and the one at the end of the line would be useless, or increase the chance of hooking deeper down the throat.
  6. Thanks guys, I'd never seen the weed like that. Wouldn't want to run through that with the prop!Yeah I wouldn't be fishing in there but it was all I could see with that stupid overlay on the ocean in google earth and nearmap. Wish I could turn that off!
  7. Yeah could be, it seems pretty think though, clumping together..there is heaps
  8. ....Hate to see the size of those pelicans!! Yeah I found it pretty interesting. I'd love to know just what it is. Might send it to PirsaLets hope its not oil!

  11. Hi all, I was looking around on Nearmaps and was zooming in around the St Kilda/Pt gawler area and saw this all over the water surface. I've never fished out north and have only ever launched out from O'sullies near home. I was thinking of heading up that way and maybe try out near the Goanna's so wondered what everything looks like on nearmaps.Anyone know what this would be??....... Algae maybe? I know when some fish spawn it floats on the surface but I'd assume its more likely a growth of some sort. I've never seen anything like before.Cheers[attachment]C:\Documents and Settings\alex.butler\
