90% jade perch.....who knows were it came from or what its doing in there!!

yea looks like a fat swollen jade perch than anything else!

Ok then cheers for that yeah the water that fish came out of its feral haha wouldn't be eating anything near or around that pond but i have seen people take yabbies and carp from there hope they have a strong stomach because that water in there is gross!! i think that fish was a 1 off in there? haven't seen any others come up yet!

yea i did release it didn't really wanna touch it looked n smelt a bit gross :sick: but haven't caught 1 there since so maybe a 1 off fish i dunno?

yea i read somewhere fish can get them black spots from catch and release?? but i don't no if that's true or not

i replied but it didn't come up??? so its a jade perch??? it was caught at the carp ponds near perrys bend down near the onkaparinga river caught these that day as well my pb carp

i have a abu 7000 with braid on with a 11 ft beastmaster rod and it casts a mile very good reel never had a biurd nest with it eaither!!!!

yea fair ugly fish lol but they are really shiny and look good to eat.. i cant remember if it had any teath but i dont think i did because my hook come out really easy and wasnt really scratched!

i was very suprised to what i reeled in last night on my line, i was down Fleurieu Peninsula way and thought it was a little mully or sort of fish..i didn't relise that you could catch them down that way. i let it go after a quick photo but herd they are good eating has any1 eaten 1 before? And what do they taste like? cheers jewiehunter!
