  1. Here's a litle link to the Champions Group and the initial Rec Fishing release by the Hon Paul Caica.http://www.strikehook.com/forum/74-pirsa-fisheries/77607-rec-fishing-survey
  2. Hi Ranger, sorry to take so long to answer your query. The simplest way is for me to tell you a TRUE story about what happened at the afore mentioned PIRSA/SARFAC Conciliation Workshop. After some 4 or 5 hours of very positive fact finding the organiser of the Workshop asked us to form into small groups and brain storm a wish list for what we all hoped to gain from the Workshop (No guesses for what me and my Vice President wanted )After long deliberation, which took us well over the allotted time for the entire workshop, the 6 groups, which represented every interested fishing body from disabled
  3. Just come back from a Tassie holiday and they pay nearly 70 bucks for a trout licence but nothing for sea fishing!25 dams full of trout and natives at SAFWAA for 60 bucks a year is a total bargain A THIRD of this cost for a STATE RFL per year, super bargain IMO!
  4. HOME TRUTH:, not a blind thing any body says on this Forum of ours makes a jot of difference in the world out side of it! However, as already stated recently, we can have a hell of a lot of fun debating it!The real world is lobbying your politicians, forming Clubs of various interest groups, combining your collective voices in our State Recreational Fishing Council and making sure your voice is heard where it really counts, in the Halls of power, the Government! Here endeth the first lesson
  5. I hear your pain and everyone elses mate but to re-quote a famous person's quote:"There are two things certain in life and they are, DEATH and TAXES"Neither of these are all that popular with "Homo Sapiens" but we do live with them ;)What's one more tax here or there?, life still goes on and don't forget that no civilized Country in the World can manage its affairs without them
  6. Now, here's a guy with a real solid, thought full suggestion
  7. You've got passion Ranger and more importantly you beleive firmly in your cause This debating (no! not masturbating) game is a heap of fun mate don't you think???
  8. It's really not rocket science, "You use it, YOU pay for it!"The benefits far out weigh the negatives of just sitting on your 20 bucks a year for your RFL and getting nothing at all, while the interstaters reap massive benefits for their small outlay.
  9. Hi Jack,I very much appreciate your efforts in defending me against our "friends" allegations, certainly saves me a bit of heartache Best regards, Tony.
  10. Interesting that even with this glaring evidence of the positive aspects of paying an annual fee for your fishing that we still have the same tired old knockers.Did any one bother to read to the bottom lines where vast sums of money where allocated for extra Compliance Officers, Anglers diarys, child education in skills and looking after the future, plus seeking to put Fishing in the School Curriculum!AND there also was that little Gem of having the biggest and most expensive fish stocking excercise in the 10 year history of the Victorian RFL.
  11. Hi guys,I'm on my favourite "soap box" again.I was blown away to read the success of the Victorian RFLs as shown in the enclosed scans from a national Fishing Magazine  It seems South Australia some times deserves the description of being a bit of a backwater when you see how advanced our sister States are  Don't get me wrong, I luv our State and all that's in it but it does make you wonder when we will catch up with what we should have been enjoying for many years
  12. Hi Darren,Now you've got every bodys curiousity aroused at to why a fanatical Fly Fisher/Fly tyer needs an 80 grm sinker  :silly: You building a new secret weapon in the battle to catch bigger trout??
  13. Jagger gave me a heavier one some time ago Darren, might be worth a PM that way?
  14. Hi Darren, Sportfishing Scene, Cavan has always been a good provider for me and Ray and Anne's did have them, Dorsal Fin might be worth a ring too ;)I only use the smaller sizes which I slide down my braid to dislodge SP's which get stuck on snags mate, very effective they are too, always have a slack handful of them in my fishing vest B)
  15. Hey,Davo,There's a good post on here all about the Warren reservoir Should get a few tips from there ;) PS You do know that your South Para Permit is only valid 'til the end of December and then you're up for a $33 annual fee!? Info all on the thread!hope this helps
  16. Oh POOH!! Yet another Seniors moment Truth is mate, I catch that many kilo plus reddys that the memory tends to form a bit of a blur as to where they all were caught and when  Never mind tho' I've always got the Club Redfin trophy in my study as a ready reddy reckoner over the last 4 1/2 years :P :PPS that PB was the 2009 to 2010 Trophy! PPS Now that we've got the Dam back which held the Club all time record of 2.2 kgs (by Bob Harris in 1991 to 1992) I'm looking good to break a few more PB's ;)
  17. Luv it, bring it on, remember tho', I can't weigh a redfin in for the SAFWAA Trophy from any where but a Club Dam, same as all members If I was to cut loose on some of the 'naughty" spots you guys use (heaven forbid :silly: or travel a bit more than I do, maybe, just maybe ;)
  18. hey mate, just trying to maintain our squeaky clean image on S&H
  19. Get right in to it Mully, we love to fire the guys up in the Club, it's about time I had a bit of competition mate and who else but the "LURE KING"
  20. Good to see you do your home work mate!Don't worry I spotted your post almost as quick as you finished writing it I'm very sad when I see these Spring time redfin as they have lost a good third of their body weight by now as they have finished spawning :ohmy:I have an evil plan developed over quite a few years of chasing my favourite species and that is to target them in the freezing cold winter months when the rest of the guys are making plans to break out the slip slop slap in the nice warm summer months! It pays off, Club reddy Champ for the last four years and an ALMOST un-beatable leader
