  1. Berley heavy with a minced fish trail, tuna oil and plenty of good luck mate. Obviously tackle depends what sized fish you are hoping to catch. I target small ones for the table.
  2. statesquidder, they are fish I have caught and chosen o have molded. Just lucky my mate got into it but its a shame he has had enough of it, molding and fibreglass casting is the easy bit, lifelike paintwork is the real skill.tonyb, always wondered how they did that to make a reusable mold, we just use casting plaster so its a one off.
  3. Those little C Crafts go where many bigger boats fear. top little seaworthy unit they are! Yep, like the Nereus 16 brenton

  5. Fish or this pic?????????Fish molds I reckon!!!!!!!!!!!!! :f
  6. My mate Rob (R-Sea) made them, and the process has been an ongooing process for him, just unfortunate he has had enough of doing it, I think if you had the fish ready to paint, he'd probably do them but as for all the rest, he is over it.I have learnt heaps about it from the early days of us keeping a few fish from arnhem land and bringing them back in an esky, to next time up north catching up with NT taxidermist Andrew Cappo, who invited us out to his residence, and was a top bloke, giving R-Sea a lot of tips to help the molding process, and my gosh, he had some bloody big unfinished fish th

  8. Nice, My best was 13.2kg and on the same trip (where we took my 15ft streaker to darwin) the old boy got a stonker of 24kg.
  9. Just thought I'd post this topic after seeing tonyb wanting a redfin mold in the whoppa reddie thread. Just hung a few of my molds back up, just got a queeny, coral trout, snapper and tuna (hurry up Rob) to hang still. Got me thinking of all the fish casts I've seen I reckon R-Sea's are the most lifelike I have seen. I know a few other people on this site have fish casts by Rob and would love to see any pics people have of fish molds they have hanging up and stories behind them, who made them? I'll post the pics i just took of what I hung up last weekend. The pic with a few casts has my first f
  10. They're full of prawns at the top of the gulf too!
  11. Love this post nanman. I got one in 2004, 6.9kg on 4kg and it took 1hr 52minutes to boat, when i finally had it to the boat it took another 20 minutes agonisingly just out of net range before we boated it.....didn't try for them again after that on light gear....they fight too hard! Great fun and a coldie went down well afterwards!
  12. If I can find someone to tow it i'll gladly add a fourth trailer for me to sit in and payment will be in amber fluid!
  13. Am I right in assuming these trolleys are steerable like a mini dog trailer?ie- front axle pivots?????And if so can I chain 3 together and make a mini fishing beach train?????, lolDef look like the go, now just gotta choose a mate to tow it for me!!!! :)Anyone know if we can get em locally here in Whyalla?
  14. I don't really eat much fish either, nothing wrong with keeping a few bream though, i'd have probably kept that beauty too, even if it did get given to appreciative family. No different from keeping snapper, flatties, kingfish, whiting, gar, tommies, squid or shitties.there is millions of bream out there so no harm in keeping 'em if u choose!
  15. If not fishing but partying in the hills somewhere hey wes
  16. Onya Kat, a nice fat 40cm beauty!
  17. I think the heaps spiky ones are called a globe fish. My biggest two were a kilo specimen of puffer from the surf at 42 mile and a 1.5kg mammoth from gove in arnhem land.
  18. ahh but it does look good on the wall aye bruz!
  19. wish i'd dragged the scales out for him too, his best was 85cms and fat, full of roe, i just said bout 7kg but wish i coulda let him no for sure.....Still before we headed out he said he wanted to get one over 5kg and he did this so i was stoked, bigger smile on my face than on his! wish fishing was always as satisfying!
  20. cheers, mr rotherham....just wish i'd filmed the next 2 he caught but really was just watching his delight and my watch hoping we'd get to leave because I had work again the next day :(After he released fish number 5 he wanted just one more bait, looked at me and said, nah stuff it, thats been great, lets go....lucky we did too because the wind and tide stiffened against each other and my 15 footer was gonna get real wet otherwise!
