Normally i escape town to avoid the snapper comp, i go to sceales or coffins or the river but thinking this year i will hang around, fish if the weathers good and pray like buggery that work doesn't decide we're so busy we have too work the easter break too:angry:

All of my best big kings over 10kgs have been caught on live squid at pt augusta and whyalla. My best two mullies came from the port river, both on live garfish and have caught a few reds on small live shittys. Don't often livebait but seem to for targetting trophy fish.

For sure is a bearded rock cod, or also called a red cod or slimy cod, caught quite a few off deeper rocky type and reefy bottoms.

Two great fish of our reefs, most of my offshore stuff is off coffins or sceale bay. Caught heaps of nannys with the best ones in the 2.5 - 3kg bracket and my best mowies are around the 3kg mark, but as you know the hooks pull on them pretty easy and i reckon i've lost bigger ones.....doh!

But its panny season here now and they are the best on the table, good fun on light tackle too.

My nor mal big ones here seem too range in the 7-9kg range, best ones i've caught are around 11.5kgs. Lots of snapper caught but no real monster oldies yet.

My PB...56 1/2cms...1.2kgs from Smith Bay, Kangaroo Island...now resides on the wall at home thanks to Rob Chenda.
