..........how ironic.........I know a guy that shagged a hooker on Port Hughes jetty.......small worldMy grandfather once hooked a shag on a gar rig off the Pt. Hughes jetty.

Will be a collectors item one day..........

just sat down for a read of my copy.......all over the shop.........a binding / collating mis-hapup to page 10 ok......then pages 19 to 26......then 19 to 26 again........27 through to 82 ok........then 76 to 82 again.......then 91 to 98.anyone else?oh well,at least I got the Far West Coast reef article...........anyone care to tell me what I missed????

has been many a year since I fished the mouth...........never will again, passed it now,too old to wade out........certainly a danger at all times though........although the hook up memories and captures, will last a life time......but so will the "near misses" and "mysterious" slaps on the legs........bronzies??????......if you died there and then, well,so beit......looking back now, plain bloody crazy!
-
I used to fish the Murray Mouth years ago with the "big" Mr.Twisters.........3oz ball sinkered,6/0 hooked,8 inch fluoro curl tails, with good success........anything that makes a splash and sends out vibrations,is good for the "art"
-
not being a lure fisho myself,I would think after dark, you would require 1)a rattle type lure 2)a "scented" lure or 3)a boldly moonlit night for your lures to "stand out" from below........can't be 100% though, but seems logical......I'm sure there's vastly better opinions than mine here though.......

Southern stores received the mag today' date=' northern stores tomorrow Mark[/quote']I must be the only fisho in "my Northern Area"..........half a dozen hit the stand on day of release, and 5 weeks later, there's still 5 there.........as I'm in there every second or third day on other business as well (it has a post office next door) I always pop in to have a look
-
the Government wouldn't know if it's arse was on fire, let alone when and where an asteroid is going to hit.......the only thing Gillard knows is her nose is far bigger than Abbott's budgie.........not meaning any disrespect to your original post URH........sorryor for example you suddenly find out from the Government that an Asteroid is going to hit the Earth in a day or two's time.

SWMBO rules with an iron fist in our place.Being that she earns 75% of the $$$$ that come in,she makes sure we all know it too.Still, with 2 teenage daughters as well..........I am even more a believer of the saying "life is just something you do while you're waiting to die"

I use an old screwdriver that has been sharpened to a point. A quick firm push of it between the fishes eyes from the top of their head will do the trick every time.

........obviously no size or bag limit then?30years ago caught the mrs on a live trouser snake
-
I would have thought dolphins were smarter than that........Once caught a brown snake in a backwater near Morgan.....wasn't exactly "caught" as "tangled".Needless to say it was "released" trailing 20 yards of 6lb mono.

"easy" seems to be the word.........not too many land based people these days are prepared to work for their fish......plenty of carp around if you want to work for them, even in the dead of winter......lazy sods.....there's a difference between "catching" and "fishing" you know.........perhaps you don't know;there lies the problem..........

Yes,I have quite a number of spots along the river that yield various species at varying times of the year. Was trying to ascertain where you were trying. The City has a number of top spots, and you've obviously found one.

"the Torrens" is a pretty broad and general area if I say so myself........what sort of suburb are you talking about?
-
last one I caught went 12 pounds from a pool around Klemzig area.......that was end of March though
-
I saw something similar at Dana Point Marina in San Diego, catering predominantly for the game fisho's of the Baja Peninsula..........shop wasn't quite as big as that one seems to be,but same style with the "stream"......they had a "channel" running through, with some small GT's and a couple of spinner sharks (looked like a bronzie to me) about 2 feet long..........big $$$ changing hands there by the minute.nice pics there.......
-
Beaches on eastern Yorkes are loaded with them......all from easily legal at around 27cm up to close on 40cmAll on mince, curry powder and semolina mix..........no burley required

I agree jagger........unfortunately,some things just have to be learned the hard way.......I'm sure we'll see some postings shortly about "the one that got away".........lacking tecnique,or inadequate gear?....I know where my money lays.........hopefully then, lesson learned.
