  1. Thats no mullet Mars, yea fell for the lure in previous photo(slug). Wasnt the only one either , that one was just one of about half dozen that someone was holding for a photo and i stuck the tape measure there . I reckon i threw back about 4 or 5 as well cozz i just thought they were trouts, till i took some notice! ugh!

  2. Ranger, if u like shark fillets you would be impressed with the 7 gills, have only sacrificed 1 ever.I shared it with my mates and they and thier families loved it as well. Be hard to let another largeish one go again.Depends on how much fish for food i have in stock at home freezer. We all had lots of meals out of it too.Just do the usual cleaning proccess for shark.....dont ever freeze it with skin on either. One of my mates rekons it was the best shark he ever ate , better than bronzy & hammerhead. kids luv it too (no bones) i too was impressed . worth catching if there is size to them for food , but they dont fight ! thats the bad thing.

  3. Anything is possible i rekon... but hard to believe ...i know lolthat soul guy im pretty sure had that rapid marine tackle shop in Rundle st and befor that was in Grenfell st. bought my penn longbeach from Grenffel St store and 30lb butterworth rod , and bought penn senator 9/0 and killwel rod from Rundle st shop way back now.

  4. Ive used pork snitzle that was sitting in the freezer for some time, wasnt keen on cookin it so used it for bait, must say i was suprized how many mullet i caught that day. just cut it into thin strips.

  5. Only ever used Offset Gammakatsu Octopus Circles while sitting on a school of snapper on a boat, did lots af catch n release and all fish were hooked in the jaw , makes for easy release.Landbased i use J style hooks always. It takes some getting used to fishing with circles if your holding your rod n reel.

  6. Im not a boaty ...yet lol ,,,planing on it soon tho.Anyway i always thought the200meter rule to.hey mully madness, ocean might be "free" , but yr supose to be considerate to all fishermen too, and their equipment. Ive tangled up befor on boats over the years, lost a bit of line and a few nice 5 meter lenghths of 1.8 mm wire hooks and 10 mm rope.i bet they had fun too. a recent capture of mine was a kite surfer at Henley jetty, this clown got tangled nicely and was on the beach pretty quickly. All just on a casted 6/0 45 lb line,8oz leadand an 8/0 hook.Took him 15 min to get untangled. At Wallaroo iv had a bloke in his tinny basicly line up my 2 baloons wich are holding up my bait go right over the both of them......middle of the arvo ....clear day ... less than 150 m from the jetty....what a stupid tool. They are out there! ocean might be free but there are also laws and fundamental rules to adhere too.
