Finally got onto my first mully today at the onk! Had a great fish with Kuerschner and Fishingmad! I landed 2 nice schoolies, one at 53cm and the other at 67cm. Small one on half a pilly and big one on a live st! Love the fights and I think I'm hooked on mully fishing now Thanks to Josh and Leigh for helping me out! Really appreciate it guys!

Had another great day with James fishing around Outer harbour. We fished for gar at first with no luck for the first 2hrs. But I did manage a small zebra fish thing. Later on, the gar started to turn on, we got em cast after cast! Most of the gar were legal sized from 24cm to 26cm. Later on, we moved spots and managed to land around 30 odd bream. Cast after cast aswell! :woohoo: All released of course. But they soon tuned off the bite. We flicked for st with lures and James managed to get his first on a FLY while he was demonstrating how to cast with my rod! :silly: Another awesome day, sa

A few nice catfish live in pools around that area. I reckon give it a shot with corn or bread as Del said, you might get onto some good carp and catties!

CHeers guys!@Tinker: Cheers for the positive comments! We used pilchard chunks and I only wish to break the 43cm mark! Well done, that's a pretty decent fish. I hope I get some 40cm+ bream this weekend and maybe even my first mully @queeny: That sounds awesome! I sure will let you know if I don't break the 40cm mark before April. Must be a real secret spot to have that many 40cm fish

@Kayak Noob: They are challenging but if you keep fishing for em, you'll work out a way. We used unweighted pilchard cubes with a small hook. @jimbojames and Nanman: Haha that's what I always say aswell. From all my mates who's caught 40cm bream, they've caught them as a by-catch for mullies. :pinch:

Haha cheers 4THA, they were caught on bait, I am working on the video right now! It probably won't be up until next week though. The last session we had I got a 37cm bream and James got a 39cm bream. Only 1cm off!!!! :woohoo:

James and I went to west lakes on the quest for the 40cm bream. Straight away when we got there, we got some takes and James managed a nice 36cm bream already! Always good to have a catch and release session. Anyways, we persisted into some smaller bream and landed another decent one which was 34cm. Fished on for another 5 hrs and landed numerous small ones with the occasional decent bream. We finished the day with two 36cm bream and five 35-33cm bream. Another good session with most fish being legal but of course, all fish released We didn't manage to land a 40cm+ bream but...

I like braid better, more sensitive when lure fishing and it's stronger when fishing around structure.
