I have to be honest that is an impressive wound though I have to agree those are clean cuts as where a blunt knife can cause more damage due to the edge tearing and not slicing. Being a nurse (aswell multi talented I am) i have seen some rippers and the worse ones are always from a dull blade. Think of the pressure difference you use to cut with a dull blade.

MarcI use the same leader as brenton and have had some ripper fights on it. I have even had a cheeky salmon trout try to snap me off on some barnacles on a pylon it was cut up and had abrasion marks on the leader but it didnt break. Great stuff and its cheaper than most. I got 50m for like $9

Jupiter I am not seeing how you and someone you know both have had problems with them. My partner's uncles cousin (i know its a mouthful) operates on a tuna harvesting boat in Port Lincoln and they exclusively use Hornes Waders. Now he has had his waders for 16 years and he has sent them back 0 times. The whole crew uses them all without any problems. So I am not to sure if you had a bad batch or what the story is but I also own a pair. had mine for a year No problems what so ever. So maybe just maybe you were unlucky but two pairs in 1000 isnt bad odds if you ask me.

Well this topic has defiantly hit some raw nerves, I like any rec angler in SA will shop around to find the best deal. I do however believe in using Goolwa Cockles and I do not use the import kind, the reason behind this is not because I am supporting local (although I am using this as a factor) it is just because I believe they work better. After enquiring about the price of these fantastic little things I can say without revealing the actual price that I belive them to be a fairly priced item. For around the cost of a decent squid jig you can pick on of these up with what im hoping is a lot less of a chance to get it snagged {SMILIES_PATH}/smiley.gif Will hopefully be picking mine up on the weekend.

Not trying to be difficult however I can't see any reason we can not discuss the price of the reel. I am not asking people to tell me who has it for this price, nor am I trying to play off any stores against each other it was just a simple question hoping that I had received a good deal.
