MarsOne 137
Recently had a trip to California, where I spent just under 4 weeks living it up :woohoo: We did a road trip up the coast to San Fransisco, then check out Yosemite. I thought I'd share my experiences of Bass Pro Shop at rancho kookamunga, about an hour and a half from downtown LA. This place is three stories of fishing, camping, hunting and ourdoor gear. According to the website its 180,000 square feet - it was literally the size of footy park.Has a restaurant connected to it, which is apparently all right. But who'd eat there, I'd be spending my dollars on the gear inside!SAFWAA worldwide!Front entranceMore rods/reels/lines, everything you can think of than you could poke a stick at.Also has an outdoors section, along with a marine bit that does boat sales What I found most impressive was the display inside. A manikin, decked out in fly gear - standing in a running stream, full of browns and rainbows. Some of these fish were around the 24" mark ! Would've killed to drop something in there.... Had a ball throwing chunks of fluff and stuff out of my pockets - fish were straight onto anythingGuys walk around with oversized shopping trolleys and pile it up with gear....Was a pretty awesome place to visit!Cheers,Scottie archerfish

jigsaw 0
I saw something similar at Dana Point Marina in San Diego, catering predominantly for the game fisho's of the Baja Peninsula..........shop wasn't quite as big as that one seems to be,but same style with the "stream"......they had a "channel" running through, with some small GT's and a couple of spinner sharks (looked like a bronzie to me) about 2 feet long..........big $$$ changing hands there by the minute.nice pics there....... mrballs 12
I visited the same shop a year and a half ago, it sure is impressive! The food in the restaurant was great too!.mind you the shops in alabama and vegas were amazing as well. The one in Vegas is directly connected to the silverton casino so you can walk between the two!.
