Alex Van Leeuwen 0
G'day, I live in Gawler and often go fishing around middle beach/ port gawler area. when im out there i see hundreds of tubeworm hole and sometimes try to dig them up. The other day i went out there with the sole intention of getting bait for the next couple of months, i had no problem getting nippers with the bait pump but i couldnt get any tubeworms, not with the pump and not by digging around them. Does anybody know a good way of getting tubeworms out and in one piece? and just out of curiousity is there anywhere around the place to dig for bloodworms? Cheers, Alex
Kelvin 2,206
SpeedYou need to cut the tubes off at an angle about 30cm or 40cm under the ground. If you take your time digging around the tube the worms will just go deep and you will be left with an empty tube. Damo mully 0
Ay bud you can also use a large fish frame or something similar and by swishing above the holes when the wash comes over and wait for em to come up and try n eat it then slowly from behind push your fingers into sand then grab em by head slowly pull em out with a slight wiggle. Takes time but you will get em. Once you have fired them up in one spot it wont take real long bud. Blood worms love piles of rotten seaweed dig under there and you should find em champ. It works at pt mac for me. Alex Van Leeuwen
