Hey Guys, check this Cuttle out. Caught off Seaford on a barbed hook style squid jag baited with squid legs.weighed, after it had emptied itself of water and ink, it came in at exactly 5kgs! The drink bottle next to it is the 2 litre size :o :o

yeah they can grow quite big tonyb ,,, im in whyalla and we have them breeding here all winter and when there mating they are easy to catch at times we have to use snapper gear to reel them in ;D ;D ;) and i have seen them bigger here but never bothered to take a pic,,, one thing for sure they butt ugly things ;D ;D but an excellent snapper bait ;) ;) ;) ,,, cheers freddyboy

Hey, Freddyboy, thanks for the input, I showed these pics to an old Diving buddy of mine and he sent me some stunning underwater shots of Cuttles mating up your way. They look huge but that could be the magnification which occurs underwater. Still, if you're using snapper gear to haul em out :o Incidentally cuttle "candles",sliced and tip hooked over cockles seem to catch a lot bigger class of KGW's down at our end of the gulf than just cockles.
