Protecting your bait

Recommended Posts

With the warmer weather approaching, we're all going to have to deal with the most significant nuisance of fishing, sea lice. Sea lice have the tendency of entering sea creatures through the rectum, mouth, gills or any hole present; subsequently eating away at the flesh like maggots. A method I use to counteract this is wrapping your bait in 'bait mate' (see photo). Although this will not stop the sea lice from ruining your bait, it will allow you to leave your baits out exsensively longer.(http://www.baitelastic.com/images/BaitMate001.jpg)Does anyone have any intelligence they'd like to share on how to deal with sea lice?DOA.
